Lets be very loud and clear about this fact that Google doesn’t use Keywords and Description meta tags for search rankings. Its not something new but Google has not been using it for several years now.

If you even have the slightest doubt then just read what Google explained about meta tags on its Official Webmaster Central Blog here. It clearly states that keywords meta tag is not used as a ranking factor, simply because anyone can stuff keywords in meta tag irrespective of the page content. This is being ignored by Google in ranking factor right from its early days (some 10 years back .

So what about description meta tag? Well Google does use it to show search snippets sometimes but its still doesn’t use as a ranking factor.

Last week the MOZO invited feedback on its website SEOMOZO from experts on SEOChat forum and the experts responded with fireworks from all around.

To start with the name SEOMOZO itself was questioned, that too in a fashion good enough to break my heart. Next, the content of my website followed by the service offerings, SEO packages, my understanding about SEO as well as my integrity in business.

Holding my breath I tried explaining how I arrived at the name SEOMOZO – SEO (Search Engine Optimization) + MOZO (An Assistant) where the idea is to call myself a SEO Assistant.

I also explained how my service offerings and packages were relevant, I did have some good understanding about SEO and internet marketing and that I am not here to rip-off clients. Soon the patient replies were noticed by some real experts around and it did result in earning some accolades for being a good sport.

The MOZO now belongs to the SEOChat forums and promises a healthy participation in discussions wherever possible.

Just started saying Hello to the world of SEO on leading SEO Forums and here is my first post on DigitalPoint SEO Forum and SEOChat SEO Forum. I found these two forums the best around for SEO discussions for the amount of traffic and level of expertise of some very talented SEO experts out there.
